Surgical operations are always preceded by a detailed and careful examination. The goal of the examination is to get the patient into the operating room in the best possible condition, so that the healing is faster and the number of complications is significantly reduced.
Our most common otolarynological surgeries:
Functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS)
FESS surgery is primarily necessary in cases where the natural ventilation and drainage of the sinuses is permanently obstructed. The most common indications include chronic sinusitis and the presence of nasal polyps. No external skin incision is required, as the endoscope is introduced into the nasal and sinus areas through the nasal opening.

Snoring examination (sleep endoscopy)
Sleep endoscopy is a diagnostic procedure in which, using a brief, surface (superficial) anesthesia, the otolaryngologist observes the snoring and possible airway obstruction sites, which helps in selecting the optimal treatment. The examination is performed as an outpatient procedure in the operating theater.

Nasopharyngeal tonsil surgery (adenoidectomy)
The adenoid tonsil participates in the defense against infections, especially in filtering pathogens that enter through the respiratory tract. Its function decreases with age and is no longer essential after a certain age, so the tonsil can be surgically removed based on medical indications.

Deviated septum surgery
Septum surgery is necessary when the septum deviation causes or contributes to persistent nasal breathing difficulties. The primary goal of the procedure is to ensure easier breathing and a better sense of well-being. During the surgery, an incision is made only inside the nose, which is closed with sutures, if necessary, hence no external scars remain.

Tonsil surgery (tonsillectomy)
The tonsils are lymphoid tissues located on either side of the throat that play a role in protecting against infections. If the tonsils become frequently inflamed, permanently enlarged, or cause other health problems, their removal may be warranted.

What our patients say
-
A few days after the operation, I would like to take the opportunity to thank you for the extremely high-quality work I encountered during my stay (including the attitude/knowledge/care of my doctor, Dr. Gábor Szakolczay-Vrábel, and the nurses' attitude, etc.). A surgery may never be a really good experience, but I think you all did everything you could to make this period of surgery a positive event in my memory.
