By filling the circles under the eyes with an injectable implant, not only can the circles under the eyes be removed, but the smaller depressions around the eyes and on the face can also be filled out.
Treatment for under-eye circles
When is under-eye circle treatment warranted?
As we age, it is a natural phenomenon for the skin, especially the sensitive area under the eyes, to become thinner. As connective tissues lose their firmness over time, it is more difficult for the skin to regenerate, and bags and dark circles beneath the eyes may appear. These are often difficult to cover perfectly with make-up, but non-surgical wrinkle-filling treatment can immediately restore the skin's natural radiance and elasticity, ensuring a youthful appearance and a fresh look.
What happens at the first consultation?
Treatment of the under-eye circles is preceded by a condition assessment, during which a plastic surgeon examines the skin surface to be treated, and if necessary, also recommends additional treatment, such as facial rejuvenation. They will also inform you about the personalized treatment plan and the characteristics of the fillers to be used. Based on this, you can choose the most suitable method or active ingredient for your individual goals, together with our specialist. If you have already undergone a similar procedure or wrinkle filling, it is important to tell your specialist, as this may affect the type of filler chosen for the treatment.
Preparing for the intervention
In contrast to the preparations for plastic surgeries, no further examinations are required following that performed during the consultation. Before the procedure, eat light meals, ensure sufficient fluid intake, and for two weeks before the procedure, taking aspirin or ginkgo biloba and other herbal remedies is not recommended.
What happens during the procedure?
Absorbable fillers are always used for this procedure. At Dr. Rose Private Hospital, our specialists use Teosyal Redensity II filler to fill the under-eye circles, which provides skin firmness using a preparation of hyaluronic acid which is naturally found in the body. You will not experience any significant pain when the filler is injected into the skin, hence we do not use an anesthetic injection as this would be more painful to administer than the procedure itself. The plastic surgeon injects the active ingredient into the skin with a fine needle after professionally disinfecting the surface. During the procedure, the depth of filler delivery, and the direction and continuity of the injection may differ from treatment to treatment. The procedure takes 10-15 minutes in total.
What results can you expect from the intervention?
The effect of the treatment is immediate, the circles under the eyes disappear, the wrinkles smooth out and the skin becomes youthfully fresh again. As the filler also stimulates the production of collagen, which is also responsible for skin tightness, the treated skin surface will become even more flexible over time, being both healthy and radiant.
Recovery, aftercare
Under-eye circle treatment is not surgery, hence there is no recovery period. After the treatment you can carry on with your life and do your usual tasks. During the first consultation, our plastic surgeon will inform you about possible - very rare - complications.
