Botulinum toxin, b.tox for short, is used primarily to smooth out wrinkles and prevent them from deepening. However, it is also a solution for eliminating disturbingly heavy sweating in the armpits, soles and palms.
B.tox sweat treatment
When is b.tox sweat treatment warranted?
For many, annoying sweat stains and constant sweating are an everyday problem. Heavy perspiration cannot be eliminated by deodorants and various antiperspirants. Injection treatment by our dermatologist can be applied to the armpits and the palms.
What happens at the first consultation?
Our dermatologist will examine you during a personal consultation and answer any questions that may arise.
Preparing for the intervention
In contrast to the preparations for plastic surgeries, no further examinations are required following that performed during the consultation. Do not use any antiperspirant and depilate the area to be treated 24 hours before b.tox sweat treatment.
What happens during the procedure?
During the procedure under local anesthesia, the doctor injects a dilute solution of botulinum toxin into the area to be treated. The active substance in b.tox blocks the action of the sweat glands, thus reducing the rate of sweating. The procedure takes about 30 minutes.
What results can you expect from the intervention?
After treatment, the rate of sweating decreases spectacularly and disturbing sweat marks disappear. You do not have to change clothes or wash yourself several times a day, nor use deodorant.
Recovery, aftercare
As aesthetic treatment is not a surgical procedure there is no recovery period. After sweat treatment you are free to work and do your usual tasks. The active ingredients work in several steps, and the maximum effect comes a few days after the injection. Generally, after approximately four weeks there is a very significant reduction in sweating and the next treatment will only be needed after 5-6 months. B.tox sweat treatment side effects very rarely occur, and during the first consultation our dermatologist will inform you about these.
