Urological surgeries
Our premium in-patient department offers 3 operating theatres and 24 patient rooms with 33 beds to meet all your needs: the highest professional standards and an exclusive environment for safe and relaxed recovery.
Our hospital offers both one-day and multi-day surgical care. Surgical operations are always preceded by a detailed and careful examination. The goal of the examination is to get the patient into the operating room in the best possible condition, so that the healing is faster and the number of complications is significantly reduced.
Our most common urological surgeries:
TRUS biopsy – Transurethral ultrasound and prostate biopsy
A TRUS (transrectal ultrasound) biopsy, i.e., transrectal (rectal) or transperineal (perineal) ultrasound-guided prostate sampling, is required when an elevation in PSA (Prostate Specific Antigen) level and/or a physical digital rectal examination of the prostate and/or a multiparametric MRI scan of the prostate has raised suspicion of malignancy.
The procedure is performed under general anesthesia with appropriate antibiotic protection. Samples are taken through the rectum or the perineum using an ultrasound probe with a thin needle.
The patient can leave the hospital 4-5 hours after the procedure. The antibiotic prescribed by your doctor after the procedure must be taken that evening.

Prostate resection (TURP)
TURP (transurethral resection of the prostate) surgery, i.e., the partial or total removal or incision of the prostate through the urethra, may be necessary in cases of urinary dysfunction after failure of conservative medication.
The operation is performed under general anesthesia or spinal anesthesia. During the operation, a special bladder scope (resectoscope) is inserted into the bladder through the urethra. This device has an electric element at its end to cut and stop bleeding using high frequency current. The prostate tissue that is blocking the flow of urine in the posterior urethra is removed layer by layer.
After the procedure, depending on the size of the prostate, you will usually need to stay in hospital for 2-3 nights.

Bladder tumor removal (TURBT)
TURBT (transurethral bladder tumor resection) surgery, i.e., the removal of a bladder tumor through the urethra, may be necessary for bladder tumors or other bladder lesions.
The surgery is performed under spinal anesthesia, but general anesthesia can also be used. During the operation, a flexible bladder scope (resectoscope) is inserted into the bladder through the urethra, so no incision is needed. The bladder tumor is removed layer by layer.
After the procedure, a one-night stay is usually required.

Hydrocele (scrotal swelling) surgery
A build-up of serous fluid in the scrotum, called a hydrocele – which in some cases can be accompanied by or develop into a hernia - is often a congenital disorder, but it can also develop due to inflammation, injury or cancer. In many cases the cause of the disease is unknown.
The surgery is performed under local anesthesia, general anesthesia or spinal anesthesia. The testicle is accessed by an incision in the scrotum or in the groin, in order to open and drain the fluid-filled sac.
An overnight stay after the operation is required. After the surgery, it is recommended to keep the testicle well supported and apply local cooling for 1-2 weeks.

Surgical circumcision
Surgical circumcision may be performed in cases of constricted foreskin, foreskin pinching, chronic inflammation of the glans, precancerous conditions on the glans or foreskin, and at the patient's request for religious or non-religious reasons. Circumcision involves the surgical removal of the foreskin that covers and protects the end of the penis (glans).
The surgery is performed under local anesthesia or general anesthesia. The sore, narrow-apertured foreskin is incised longitudinally along the upper circumference, to the level of the glans, and then the scarred inner and outer skin is excised, leaving a 3-4mm portion behind.
After the procedure, a 3-4-hour stay is required. The dressing can be removed the day after surgery.
