Permanent hair removal
Our excellent doctors, with many years’ professional experience and maximum empathy, await you in more than 40 medical specialties. With our specialist appointments, we adapt flexibly to our patients’ schedules.
When is permanent hair removal recommended?
We recommend the treatment to our patients who are looking for a definitive solution to remove light brown and dark body hair. Women can get rid of hair not only on the legs, arms, bikini line and armpits, but also those on the face, while men most often use the service to remove hair from the chest, back and armpits. Permanent hair removal can also prevent redness, ingrowing hair and hair follicle inflammation, which are common in other hair removal methods.
What happens at the first consultation?
This series of treatment is always preceded by a consultation. Our specialist doctors make sure that the surface to be depilated is suitable for the treatment and examines the skin type and the body hair qualities. They then set out a treatment plan in order to achieve the guaranteed result with the least number of interventions. At the consultation the desired surface should not be made hairless or freshly shaved as the strength of the treatment is determined by the body hair to be removed.
Preparing for the treatment
Before the first treatment the skin surface should not be smooth and hairless. For maximum effectiveness the skin surface should be shaved the day before the first treatment. You should refrain from sun exposure and tanning for at least 2 months before laser hair removal, and it is important to consult your doctor about the appropriate daily vitamin intake.
What happens during the procedure?
Laser hair removal is gentle and painless. After thorough disinfection of the skin, the specialist applies a gel material to the skin surface to be treated. The treatment is performed with high-quality laser technology, the Lumenis LightSheer DUET diode laser. Where it reaches the skin surface to be depilated, the laser light is specifically absorbed inside the hair follicle, thereby disabling the follicle. Finally, the specialist soothes the skin with a special preparation. Hair removal takes from 20-70 minutes and it is recommended to wear protective goggles for the entire duration.
What results can you expect from the treatment?
Depending on the pigmentation of the skin and the quality of the body hair, after 6-8 treatments, the hair follicles will be destroyed, with at most tiny fluff on the treated skin surface. You should know that the lighter your skin and the darker your hair, the sooner you will experience results. Depending on results, between treatments, 5-6, 10-12 or 20 weeks will elapse.
Recovery, aftercare
No special aftercare is required. If you experience mild redness due to laser hair removal it is recommended to use a soothing cream. It is also important to avoid sun exposure and solarium visits during the treatment and to allow the treated hairs to leave the hair follicles by themselves.
