Gynecological surgeries
Thanks to advances in surgical technology, some of the earlier open exploratory surgeries can now be performed laparoscopically, which is much less stressful for the patient and results in a faster recovery with fewer complications.
Surgical operations are always preceded by a detailed and careful examination, the aim of which is to ensure that the patient arrives for surgery in the best possible condition, thereby speeding recovery and significantly reducing complications.
Our most common gynecological surgeries:
Endometrial ablation
Endometrial ablation, also known as uterine ablation or curettage, can have several indications, diagnostic and therapeutic.
Ablation is performed under general anesthesia. During anesthesia, the cervix is dilated and the endometrium is removed through the open cervix.
This intervention is a same-day procedure and therefore requires a shorter period of care. After the operation, you will need to prepare for seven to ten days of physical rest.

Hysterectomy
Hysterectomy surgery has several indications. Basically, a distinction is made between whether the lesion is benign or malignant, and whether the operation is to address increased bleeding problems or other problems.
For each patient we decide on an individual basis whether to operate abdominally, laparoscopically or vaginally.
Removal via the abdomen is done through an abdominal incision. For a vaginal hysterectomy, the uterus is removed through the vagina.

Vaginoplasty
A distinction is made between prolapse complaints caused by a weakening of the anterior or the posterior vaginal wall, and those caused by a tissue abnormality, which may require a vaginoplasty.
Vaginoplasty can be performed under general anesthesia or spinal anesthesia. During the operation, following appropriate disinfection and preparation, and in most cases after insertion of a general catheter, the vaginal wall reconstruction is performed.
After vaginal wall reconstruction, a rest period of 4-6 weeks is required. Bed rest is essential to avoid short- and long-term complications.

TOT anti-incontinence surgery
The primary indication for TOT (transobturator tape) surgery is incontinence, i.e. involuntary loss of urine.
There are several types of incontinence, with SUI (stress urinary incontinence), more commonly known as stress incontinence, requiring surgery. Of the several treatment options for stress incontinence, TOT (transobturator tape) insertion is preferred. During the operation, the anatomical abnormality of the urethra is compensated for by the implantation of the tape.
Sparing yourself from physical exertion is most important after the operation, as maintaining the attachment of the TOT tape to the tissues is one of the most crucial points of the surgery.
