Three Hangodys at Dr. Rose

Prof. László Hangody’s own father was a general surgeon, and now two of Prof. Hangody’s three sons - Dr. László Rudolf Hangody and Dr. György Márk Hangody - have become orthopedic surgeons as well. Snoring examination (sleep endoscopy)

Snoring affects approximately half of the adult population, primarily impairing sleep quality, but in severe cases it can also be associated with respiratory arrest (respiratory apnea), which can have serious consequences. Snoring is a symptom caused by narrowing of the upper airways during sleep. Sleep endoscopy is a diagnostic procedure in which, using a brief, surface (superficial) anesthesia, the otolaryngologist observes the snoring and possible airway obstruction sites, which helps in selecting the optimal treatment.

Radiology

Radiology is a medical discipline using various imaging procedures (x-ray, ultrasound, MRI, CT, isotope scan), which is mainly used for diagnostic purposes. The basic task and clinical practical goal of radiological imaging diagnostics is to explore the relationships between the signs seen in the images and the pathological abnormalities behind them. In our radiology department, the examinations are carried out with the help of state-of-the-art digital x-ray devices, mammographs suitable for tomosynthesis and stereotactic sampling in addition to traditional procedures and high-end ultrasound devices. In addition to the use of modern, high-quality surgical instruments, the expertise and experience of our radiologists have a decisive influence on the evaluability of examinations, therefore only highly qualified staff with appropriate professional experience await patients in our hospital. Allergy and asthma screening package for children

Asthma and other allergic diseases (chronic conjunctivitis, common colds, eczema, food sensitivity) are the most common conditions in childhood and adolescence and their incidence is increasing worldwide. The signs and symptoms are often atypical and can persist for months or years before the correct diagnosis comes to light, forming the basis for effective treatment. Late diagnosis hinders school performance, causes parents to lose working hours and in many cases leads to the development of irreversible, more severe conditions, hospitalizations and quality of life impairment. However, with targeted examinations these diseases can be detected in good time, even in an asymptomatic state, and the appropriate therapy administered. Our asthma and allergy screening package, in accordance with the child’s age, involves a risk assessment and basic tests carried out by a specialist. Specific laboratory, allergy, immunological, respiratory function, diagnostic imaging and if necessary, co-specialist examinations will then be conducted as determined by the existing risk. After making the correct diagnosis or diagnoses, targeted lifestyle counselling and individualized treatment will be administered according to the medical condition.
