Traumatology at Dr. Rose – An Interview with Prof. Dr. László Hangody
An accident at home, at work or during your free time doesn’t just bring physical injury – it often comes with uncertainty, long waiting times, and unpredictable care. At the Traumatology Department of Dr. Rose Private Hospital, patients receive fast, structured, and comprehensive treatment, from specialist consultation and diagnostic tests through to surgery if needed. We spoke with Prof. Dr. László Hangody, the hospital’s Medical Director for Orthopaedics and Traumatology, about the professional background behind this service.
Deviated septum surgery
A deviated septum is a common condition that affects two-thirds of the Hungarian population. The nasal septum is a plate of cartilage and bone that divides the nasal cavity into two equal parts. Ideally, it is centrally located, ensuring even airflow in both nasal cavities, but it often develops minor or major deviations. This can be congenital or the result of injury. If the deviation is significant, one side of the nose becomes narrower, which can cause difficulty breathing, nasal congestion and recurrent inflammation. A deviated septum can be corrected surgically, improving nasal breathing and everyday comfort.
Taking it to the next level: Dynamic Expansion & Innovative Solutions
By the end of this summer, Dr. Rose Private Hospital will enter a new era. With thousands of square metres of expanded space, brand-new operating theatres, and 23 state-of-the-art patient rooms, the institution is taking a bold leap forward. But this transformation goes far beyond spaces and walls – it will introduce a new operational model, enhanced medical expertise, and a superior level of patient care. We spoke with Managing Director Dr. Kornél Papik about why, in private healthcare today, it’s not enough to simply do things well – and what such ambitious plans look like in practice.

DermatologistChildhood behavioral disorder package
Our childhood behavioral disorder package aims to detect and alleviate early emotional and behavioral control problems (regulatory disorders) and relationship difficulties, thus supporting a balanced parent-child relationship and the possibility of harmonious development. A regulatory disorder is nothing more than a behavioral anomaly of infancy and early childhood. Difficulties concerning nutrition, digestion/toileting and sleeping/waking routines could appear, but excessive crying and difficulties achieving calm can also characterize this period. Later this can be accompanied by difficulties paying attention, connecting with peers and processing stimuli. Disorder occurs when the appearance, intensity and duration of such a problem exceeds the limits of ‘normal’ development and/or is not expected to be resolved without external assistance. Situations and problems which are particularly difficult for parents and considered untreatable or intolerable can also be included, regardless of their clinical relevance.
Dementia Prevention Program
Dementia is a syndrome characterized by mental decline, degeneration, and ultimately dementia, i.e., a retrogression from a certain cognitive and intellectual level. It is caused by the progression of a serious brain disease that impairs memory, thinking, orientation, understanding, recognition and calculation skills, thus changing both personality and behavior. Dementia typically affects people over 60 years of age, but it can occur at a younger age. The main risk factors for dementia are certain chronic diseases – such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, kidney failure, obesity and other metabolic and hormonal diseases –, however the development of dementia is also closely linked to lifestyle.
