Spirometry

With the help of spirometry (pulmonary function test), we can get a comprehensive picture of the functioning of the lungs.

The volume of the lungs, the quality of breathing, the state of gas exchange and circulation can all be examined via this test. Spirometry may be necessary primarily in cases of asthma, allergies, COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), pulmonary fibrosis (also known as lung scarring), lung tumors and pulmonary embolism, and together with the findings from other imaging procedures (CT scan, chest x-ray), the exact diagnosis and the appropriate treatment plan can be established.
