Prenatest

The PrenaTest® can detect Down syndrome and other numerical chromosomal abnormalities risk-free, without endangering the fetus, using maternal blood sampling, with the same effectiveness as tests performed with an invasive method.

The non-invasive PrenaTest®, which can be performed using a simple maternal blood sample and therefore does not carry a risk of miscarriage, examines the mother’s blood for free fetal DNA from the placenta. Based on the structure of the DNA chains, it is possible to identify which chromosomes they come from and whether they are present in sufficient quantities. Modern testing technology based on next-generation sequencing is an effective way to detect numerical chromosomal abnormalities.

The PrenaTest® is performed by LifeCodexx, a highly experienced German laboratory.

PrenaTest® is the only European accredited and CE-marked test for the detection of fetal chromosomal abnormalities in the mother’s blood.

The PrenaTest® can determine the sex of the unborn child and can also be used in twin pregnancies.

PrenaTest® can be performed between the 9th and 20th week of pregnancy.
