Tattoo removal

Sometimes a person regrets being tattooed or simply no longer wants to wear a design they had tattooed at an earlier stage of their life. Previously, tattoo removal was resolved surgically, but in many cases this method involved scarring. However, with the development of laser technology, it has become possible for dermatologists removing tattoo ink from tissues to avoid skin damage and burns.

WHEN IS TATTOO REMOVAL WARRANTED?

A tattoo made decades earlier sometimes loses its contours and fades or changes color. It is also not uncommon for a tattoo to be placed on a body area where the skin sags due to weight fluctuations or injury, losing its firmness, thereby distorting the design. In these cases, removing the tattoo with the Alma Harmony XL PRO laser is the most ideal way to get rid of unwanted body decoration. The number of treatments for tattoo removal varies from case to case, depending on the tattoo type, color, amount of dye previously applied to the skin, technique of application, size of tattoo, and individual characteristics.

WHAT HAPPENS AT THE FIRST CONSULTATION?

Prior to treatment, our dermatologist or aesthetic assistant will consult with you to assess the condition of your tattoo to create a personalized treatment plan and describe the steps and expected effects of tattoo removal. Our Alma Harmony XL PRO laser heads are capable of removing black and dark blue tattoos.

PREPARING FOR TREATMENT

As is the case with cosmetic and cosmetological treatments, no special preparation is required before tattoo removal, but it is worthwhile to increase the hydration of the tattooed skin’s surface.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING TREATMENT?

As a first step in tattoo removal, our dermatologist or aesthetic assistant will prepare the skin surface to be treated. They cleanse it of all dirt, then apply the laser device’s operating head to the tattoo. Removal is not painless, but it causes no more discomfort than applying a tattoo. During the treatment, short pulses of light reach the skin, the energy of which is absorbed in the tattoo ink, breaking it into small pieces. This laser energy is safe and does not cause burns during treatment. The particles of the disintegrated ink are flushed out by the body’s immune system in 28-30 days. The dermatologist performs a final treatment with regenerating preparations and a sunscreen product. The treatment does not involve any discomfort. The duration of treatment depends on the size of the surface to be treated.

WHAT RESULTS CAN BE EXPECTED FROM THE TREATMENT?

Even the first laser tattoo removal process produces visible results, at which point the top layer of tattoo ink is broken down by the laser’s energy and progresses deeper and deeper into the ink during the treatment sequence. An average of 4-8 treatments are required to achieve optimal results, with a frequency of 5-6 weeks. Peeling or scaling may occur after each treatment, but this does not cause any problems. However, the successive procedure can only be performed once the skin rejuvenation process is complete.
