Rosacea treatment

Special laser treatment to block smaller blood vessels that appear and are dilated on the face or chest.

WHEN IS VASCULAR TREATMENT WARRANTED?

As with our entire body, our facial skin and décolleté are interwoven with small and large blood vessels, but these are not visible under the skin. At times, however, the walls of the capillaries weaken, and the blood vessels expand due to stress or hot or spicy foods, and then become unable to contract, and appear on the skin’s surface due to increased blood flow. This phenomenon is very embarrassing, especially when it appears on the face in the form of rosacea, which affects women more. Vessels dilated up to 4mm in diameter cannot be completely obscured by make-up, moreover their deterioration is inevitable, so the best solution is high-intensity laser vascular treatment with the Alma Harmony XL PRO laser device.

WHAT HAPPENS AT THE FIRST CONSULTATION?

Prior to treatment, our dermatologist will examine your skin, assess the vascular changes, then make a personal treatment plan and describe the steps and effects of the treatment.

PREPARING FOR TREATMENT

No special preparation is required in the case of cosmetic and cosmetological treatments, but the use of facial care products in the 24 hours before the treatment should be avoided.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING TREATMENT?

As the first step of vascular treatment, our dermatologist prepares the skin surface to be treated, cleans it of all impurities, then cools it slightly before the treatment. Safety goggles must always be worn during vascular treatment. During treatment, the laser light targets the hemoglobin in the blood, which absorbs the light’s energy and causes the blood vessel wall to contract and die. The remnants of the blood vessel wall leave the body through the excretory organs. The dermatologist moves the laser’s applicator head following the line of the blood vessels, so that even the smallest blood vessels become blocked in the area being treated. Intervention with light energy causes mild, pinprick-like pain, which is a sign of the treatment’s effectiveness. The duration of the treatment is 10-60 minutes, depending on the size of the area to be treated, and usually 2 sessions are needed to achieve the optimal result, but in some cases 4-5 irradiations may be required. Between each treatment, 4-6 weeks should elapse.

WHAT RESULTS CAN BE EXPECTED FROM THE TREATMENT?

Thanks to the treatment, the dilated capillaries of the face will disappear, and the skin will be clearer and fresher. If the development of rosacea can be linked to certain conditions, they should be avoided to prevent recurrence in other parts of the face. However, this may even require further investigation.

RECOVERY, AFTERCARE

You can safely resume your usual activities following vascular treatment. Occasionally, your doctor may advise an aftercare treatment after a few months to remove any residue. It is recommended to use sunscreen for at least 3 months after vascular and spider vein treatment.
