Wrinkle-filling treatments restore the youthful appearance of the face without surgery. Unlike the previous method of PRP (platelet-rich plasma, better known as Dracula Therapy), PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) is an anticoagulant-free blood product that is rich in platelets, fibrin and leukocytes. It helps to improve the condition of the skin and can minimize scars and increase the skin's own production of collagen and hyaluronic acid for long-lasting firmness.
PRF treatment (Dracula therapy)
When is PRF treatment warranted?
Over time, wrinkles and flaccid skin appear on everyone’s face. Harmful habits - smoking, excessive caffeine or alcohol consumption - and environmental effects can also accelerate the normal process of aging. Using a serum made from your own blood, biostimulation can delay the need for plastic surgery and rejuvenate the face, not only visually, but also at the tissue level. It is an excellent method for repairing wrinkles around the eyes, rejuvenating the facial skin and improving the condition of the skin on the neck and décolleté. It can also be used to improve the condition of certain abnormal scalps, and by stimulating hair follicles it contributes to the growth of new hairs and the healthy functioning of existing ones.
What happens at the first consultation?
During a personal consultation, our specialist will examine your skin to assess its condition. They will answer any questions and inform you about the PRF procedure’s progress and expected results. If you have previously had a similar type of treatment, be sure to inform your doctor.
Preparing for the intervention
If the result is satisfactory no further preparation is required for the intervention. We recommend that you do not smoke, only consume light meals before the procedure, and ensure proper fluid intake, which all affect blood clotting.
What happens during the procedure?
Blood taken from your own vein is broken down into its components using a special centrifuge - without the addition of an anticoagulant - and we extract unnecessary substances from it. Low-intensity centrifugation increases the number of leukocytes in the blood, which further increases the number of growth factors, and thus the efficiency of the fibrin clot. We anesthetize thoroughly cleansed facial skin locally with a blended anesthetic cream and then with a microneedle dermapen or dermaroller, our specialist delivers the treatment to the affected areas. The treatment - including taking blood and its preparation - takes about one hour.
What results can you expect from the intervention?
As a result of the PRF treatment, facial skin becomes elastic and fresh, and the depth of crow's feet can be spectacularly reduced. It is advisable to perform the treatment as a course, three times within six months, to achieve the maximum effect. The result may show individual differences depending on the quality of one's own plasma and the amount of collagen induction.
When is PRF treatment not recommended?
PRF treatment should not be performed in cases involving illness with a fever, infection, inflamed skin, immunological or blood clotting problems, nor during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Recovery, aftercare
It is recommended to take precautions for one or two days following PRF treatment and your doctor will inform you of this during the consultation. As no artificial or allergenic substances get into the skin, at most a mild redness, swelling and small bruises at the site of needle punctures can occur, but these fade within a couple of days. During this time, the face should be protected from sunlight and physical impact and in some cases, it may be necessary to cool the treated area.
