Pigment spot treatment

A special and very effective procedure for removing melanin build-up due to age, hormonal changes, or UV light damage, commonly known as pigment spots.

WHEN IS PIGMENT SPOT TREATMENT WARRANTED?

In our skin, the natural skin pigment melanin accumulates locally due to natural aging processes as well as changes in hormone levels and certain external influences, such as UV light damage. These discolored spots can be smaller, larger, darker, or lighter in color: collectively, they are called pigment spots. This skin problem affects women more because they have thinner skin. In the past, it was only intense exfoliation that brought results, but with the development of laser technology, this problem is now much easier to deal with. With the help of the Alma Harmony XL PRO laser treatment, pigment spots and sun spots can be faded relatively quickly, painlessly and effectively. The treatment can be performed on all skin types.

WHAT HAPPENS AT THE FIRST CONSULTATION?

Prior to treatment, our aesthetic assistant or dermatologist will examine your skin for pigment spots to rule out abnormalities. They will then make a personal treatment plan and explain the steps and effects of the pigment spot treatment.

PREPARING FOR TREATMENT

No special preparation is required in the case of cosmetic and cosmetological treatments, but it is worth placing more emphasis on hydrating the skin surface to be treated in the days before the procedure.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING TREATMENT?

As a first step in the treatment of pigment spots, our specialist prepares, cleans and disinfects the skin surface to be treated. The Alma Harmony XL PRO then delivers high-intensity light energy to the pigment spots, dispersing the accumulated pigment which leaves the body through the excretory system. If your dermatologist or aesthetic assistant deems it, you can also use pulsed light to treat the pigment stain for an even safer and more beautiful result. The dermatologist or aesthetic assistant will then regenerate the skin with the appropriate preparations and a sunscreen product. The treatment does not involve any discomfort. Depending on the response of the pigment spots to the treatment and the size of the treated area, 2-4 treatments may be required on average at intervals determined by the dermatologist. Each treatment takes 10-30 minutes depending on the size of the hyperpigmented area.

WHAT RESULTS CAN BE EXPECTED FROM THE TREATMENT?

The high-intensity light energy used in the treatment of the pigment spot may cause the treated skin surface to become red, but this will pass after a short time. The laser treatment is perfectly safe, it does not cause burns or harmful overheating in the tissues.

RECOVERY, AFTERCARE

After pigment spot treatment you can safely resume your usual tasks. In the few days after treatment, dead skin tissue forms on the surface of the pigment spot, which flakes off itself after healing. The dead skin tissue should not be removed or soaked, as this will interfere with the regeneration of the skin and leave a lighter spot in place. An important part of the aftercare is to use a sunscreen every day and to use the regenerating products recommended by our doctor to suit your skin.
