Nail fungus treatment

For many people, nail fungus causes a problem as it is a very stubborn, contagious disease that not only endangers their own nails, but can infect others as well. Several methods are known for its treatment, ranging from brush-on treatments at home to medication. However, they are either not effective enough - and the infection recurs quickly - or have side effects. With the help of the Alma Harmony XL PRO laser, nail fungus can be killed in a few weeks without any side effects.

WHEN IS NAIL FUNGUS TREATMENT WARRANTED?

Nail fungus is almost an endemic disease. Poorly made shoes, poor hygiene habits, an inherited predisposition to infection, and stress can all contribute to its appearance. If treatment is not started in time, the pathogens of nail fungus penetrate deep into the tissues and can only be removed from the body with long-term medication, but this method can have side effects. However, the Alma Harmony XL PRO laser provides an opportunity to fight the nail fungus without the risk of side effects and recurrence.
WHAT HAPPENS AT THE FIRST CONSULTATION?

Prior to treatment, our dermatologist will examine the area affected by the infection and then prepare a personal treatment plan for you and explain the steps and effects of nail fungus treatment.

PREPARING FOR TREATMENT

No special preparations are required in the case of cosmetic and cosmetological treatments. If you use nail polish, it should be removed.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING TREATMENT?

Nail fungus treatment extends not only to the nail but also to the tissues surrounding the affected area, as this is the only way to prevent a recurrence of the infection. As a first step in the treatment, the specialist will slightly file down the nail to be treated, so that the laser’s light energy will not be distributed in the thickened nail plate but will penetrate to the root of the infection. The specialist guides the Alma Harmony XL Pro laser treatment head over the surface of the nail to be treated in a circular motion, with the pulses following one after the other. The patient may then feel the heat but will not experience severe pain. Afterwards, our practitioner also performs the treatment on the surface of the skin surrounding the infected nail and on the nail bed, during which the pathogens responsible for the recurrence of the disease are destroyed by the light energy. Each treatment takes 15-25 minutes and requires an average of 4 treatments at weekly intervals to achieve optimal results. If more than one nail is affected or the infection is more severe, additional treatments may be necessary.

WHAT RESULTS CAN BE EXPECTED FROM THE TREATMENT?

Thanks to this nail fungus treatment, the signs of infection decrease after the first occasion, and you can get rid of the disease in the foreseeable future without the risk of side effects or rapid recurrence.

RECOVERY, AFTERCARE

Because laser nail fungus treatment is a non-invasive procedure, there is no need for recovery time after each occasion, but the use of disinfectant soap is recommended. No aftercare is required after the infection has resolved. Previously worn closed-toe shoes to which pathogens may have been transferred should be thoroughly disinfected before being used again.
